February 2018 EMBRACE Highlight
FEBRUARY 3, 2018
WHEN YOU GIVE TO Camp Hill UMC’s one-fund for ministry, you are embracing God’s vision of reaching significantly more young adults as disciples of Jesus Christ!
How, you ask?
In our December Embrace update, we shared with you that one of our goals for 2018 was to hire a new Ministry Intern who is a young adult to support exploration of vocational ministry in young people. Because of your support of the EMBRACE Initiative, in January, we were able to do just that!
The Staff/Parish Relations Committee is delighted to welcome Zach Shafer as Camp Hill UMC’s new Worship Intern! Zach is a junior at Messiah College, majoring in Christian Ministry with a Youth Ministry concentration. He is a life-long United Methodist, born into Grace UMC in Carlisle, and is the son of the Rev. Eric and Robin Shafer. Zach is passionate about music and seeing youth embrace their faith, going out to live it in the world. He is committed to helping young people step out of their comfort zone and proclaim Jesus as their Savior. Zach is on the Track & Field Team at Messiah and plays music in a variety of settings, including with the Camp Hill UMC New Life worship band. His primary ministry responsibilities at Camp Hill UMC will be working with New Life Music Director Andy Brisbin on worship planning, leading, and developing a youth worship team, as well as working together with Tech Director Brad Gardner to continue developing our worship technology ministry. We will have the joy of Zach’s ministry on our staff through the end of the school year! If you’d like to welcome Zach, you can reach him at: email@example.com.
One of the five key pieces of CHUM’s vision from God is to raise up significantly more young adult disciples of Jesus Christ, and Zach’s ministry will be focused on helping us do just that. Thank you for making it possible to continue raising up a new generation of leaders passionate about sharing the Gospel!
