Greetings, beloved!

The summer season is here, and at Camp Hill UMC, as you know, this is a season of transition! Transitions are always times of uneasiness and also of opportunity. Pastor Tom is settling into his first week of retirement, but he was excited to hear that even in this time of change, we are still moving forward, as a church, to fulfill the goals we set over a year ago through the Embrace Initiative, which we pray and believe align with God’s heart for the preferred future of Camp Hill UMC and those who are not here yet. As we prepare for Pastor Gary’s arrival, we will also be continuing the renovation work on the church building that began with the first phase of the Children’s Ministry refurbishment this past winter! This past Sunday, the Unified Leadership Council voted for us to move forward on the second phase of the Children’s Ministry refurbishment plan as well as the first phase of Gathering Space & Fireside Room refurbishment! Pastor Gary has shared with me his heart for ministries of hospitality, and that core value is one that we share and embody every day at CHUM, so I am excited that as we renovate these vital ministry spaces, they will become more fresh, hospitable, and arranged in a way that helps people for the first or the hundredth time connect with spiritual growth and mission outreach opportunities more effectively! These projects will be funded through a combination of the Embrace Initiative funds, through a generous gift from the Howard Beane Estate, and through the Camp Hill UMC General Endowment. Please pray over the Gathering Space & Fireside Room each time you enter them this summer, as they are made ready for a new, safer step design into the sanctuary, new, unrippled carpet, new welcome and mission outreach desk designs, new hospitality tables, and a fresh coat of paint! Please pray for the Preschool Poppy Rooms, the Kindergarten Sunflower Rooms, as they get ready for new cabinets, carpet, and paint, and for the First Grade Wildflower Room, and the 4th & 5th Grade Oak Room, as they prepare for new carpet! We praise God and give thanks for the gifts that have made these improvements to this sacred space possible!
