FEBRUARY 3, 2019

On February 3rd

70,000 people pay at least $2,500 to sit in Atlanta’s Benz stadium.

CBS provides 10-1/2 hours of coverage, with
ads costing $5 million for 30 seconds.

Americans consume more food than on any
day except Thanksgiving.

All for ONE football game. Super Bowl Sunday!

So, have you ever thought about it this way? On February 3rd and every Sunday, we who profess Jesus Christ as Savior have an even greater opportunity. Our opportunity can be the delight and privilege of praising our wonderful God, the most beautiful and generous and trustworthy of all beings!

Several pages into his record of the revelation of Jesus Christ that God shared with him, the apostle John writes—I looked and saw a door that opened into heaven. This is about the only “peek” into heaven that the Bible gives us.

Let’s see what’s happening—

The whole creation never rests day or night, but
keeps on saying, Holy, holy, holy is the Lord
God Almighty, who was and is and is coming.

All God’s people throw down their crowns … and
say, You are worthy, our Lord and God, to
receive glory and honor and power,
because you created all things. It is by your
will that they existed and were created.

A mass chorus of angels says in a loud voice,
Worthy is the slaughtered Lamb to receive
power, wealth, wisdom, might, honor, glory, and
blessing.

Every creature in heaven and on earth and
under the earth and in the sea says together,
Blessing, honor, glory, and power belong
forever and always to the one seated on the
throne and to the Lamb.

(Revelation 4:1,8,11 & 5:11–13)

May God’s will be done on earth as it’s done in heaven. Let’s worship our God and make it indeed a super Sunday!
