Please pray for Camp Hill UMC’s Mexico Mission Team, who is flying south, from November 8th to 16th 2019. The team has nine wonderful members, Barb Bankard, Chris Marchand, Ashley Turban, Doug Beaver, Dasha Durant, Hank Fernandez, Evelyn Fox, Drew Robeson and Marian Hartman. Except for Marian, this is everyone’s first trip to rural Mexico and with “Give Ye Them To Eat”, an integrated development program that will be hosting the team, also known as GYTTE.  Missionaries Nan McCurdy and Miguel Mairena have been serving Christ with GYTTE for just over a year. Both are supported missionaries through Camp Hill UMC’s annual budget and giving. GYTTE was established in 1977 by the Methodist Church of Mexico to combat hunger and poverty in the rural sector.

The Mexico Mission Team will be flying from HIA to Mexico City with a brief connection in Charlotte, then traveling by bus 2-3 hours to Puebla in southern Mexico. Here they will begin their immersion experience, both learning about GYTTE and life in rural Mexico. There is hands-on service work to come, but the team is open to all that God has in store for them.

The team requests prayers for safety, health and an openness to God’s Spirit throughout their entire journey. Also, please pray team unity and provision for their loved ones who remain in PA.

Lord willing, they will be providing regular updates, so keep an eye on our blog and social media for more.
