Mark your calendars for August 23rd and 30th for Outdoor Worship Services at Camp Hill UMC. August 23rd at 11:00 am we will offer an outdoor confirmation service and at 6:30 pm we will offer an outdoor New Life Worship night. On August 30th at 6:30 pm, we will offer a Celebration hymn sing. More information to come!
The Panguma Scholarship Campaign runs through August 16th. Sponsoring a child’s education is a personal way to show God’s love to a child in need and give them the tools to help provide a brighter future. Even though some of us are struggling financially due to this pandemic, the global impact is seriously felt in Sierra Leone as basic costs continue to rise with an economy suffering with COVID 19. Our goal is to raise $30,000 in 2020 for the proper education of the children and teens of Panguma, Sierra Leone. New this year, is a generous Challenge Grant of $4,000 from some anonymous friends in the congregation. Meaning that if we can raise $20,000 together, then we will receive the $4,000 bonus! Will you help us meet that challenge today? If you have any questions, please contact Drew Robeson at firstname.lastname@example.org. Visit camphillumc.org/panguma-scholarship-campaign for more information.

The next meeting for Singles for Jesus will be on August 9th at 7 pm at 221 Glenn Road (off Erford Road). Following social distancing, we will be meeting in Jim Massey’s back yard. There is plenty of room. There will be a fire pit for those who want to stay as it gets dark. Light refreshments and drinks will be served. Please come with ideas for activities, studies, and opportunities for service for the group. Even if you can not attend, please send Jim an email to show your interest in the future. Please send Jim your reservation at email@example.com or 717 979-4580 or sign up online.
Our daily encouragement sessions on Facebook Live have been a great way for us to stay connected as we were physically distant. We will now offer three Facebook Live sessions per week. Someone from Camp Hill UMC will be engaging with you on Facebook Live* at 6:30 pm. In our church’s pattern of praying together at dinner time, we invite you to join in these “community” events and to add your prayers to the chorus. See our updated schedule below!
Sundays : Sermon Rewind
Bring questions from that morning’s sermon!
Mondays : Stories of Panguma
Tuesdays: Children’s Chat with Miss Katie
Wednesdays: Mid-Week Check In
*A Facebook account is NOT required to watch the live videos!
If you’re a young adult (age 22+) in search of connection and Christ-centered community, please check out the Zoe Mazi Facebook page OR email Shannon Zimmerman at ZoeMazi.LifeTogether@gmail.com for more information about Zoe Mazi (which means “life together”). The August schedule is now available! Also, Drew Robeson will be our speaker on August 3rd and August 10th.
Join us this summer as we read the book White Fragility by Robin Diangelo. As you read, take notes, pray about it, talk about it in your home and with those in your circle. We will create a space for the congregation to talk about the book as a platform to talk openly and as a community of faith about racism. Jesus calls us not to turn away from the challenging issues but to join together and work towards a more just world. Sign up for the class that will run Wednesdays at 6:30 pm from September 16th – November 18th.
The Unified Leadership Council will meet next on August 18th at 6:30 pm online. These meetings are open to all members and friends of the church. To read past meeting minutes, visit camphillumc.org/unified. For information on how to log in to the Zoom meeting, contact Georgia Reisinger at firstname.lastname@example.org.

The Bad Girls Bible Study began meeting together over 15 years ago as one of the first mid-week, daytime studies. The makeup of the group has changed over the years, but the purpose has not. We are an intergenerational group of women striving to grow closer to God and each other through Bible study and community outreach.
Ideas for prayer are shared from the Bad Girls for each day of August. Prayers will be listed on camphillumc.org/prayertime and daily on our Facebook and Instagram pages. Feel free to add additional prayers that come to your mind and heart for people and situations in our local church, The United Methodist Church, the global church, and the wider world.
It is more important now than ever to continue to connect with others during our shelter-in-place order. Are you looking for a practical way to stay connected to our church family? We are now offering virtual small groups! Visit camphillumc.org/virtualgroups for current offerings or to register for us to form a new virtual group including you. Questions, contact Sandy Zirbel at email@example.com.
We have heard from many of you who are searching for ways to offer your talents and spirit to your neighbors. We are excited that we are bringing together those who are in need and those who are willing to help. If you are in need of food, someone to run an errand for you, or someone to talk to, we want to connect you with those in the church who care. So, if you are in need or you want to give of yourself, please visit camphillumc.org/bethechurch. Questions, contact Drew Robeson at
Our leadership team is carefully and continually monitoring this situation. As information evolves, camphillumc.org/coronavirus is the primary, most up-to-date place for you to receive answers to commonly asked questions. We are committed to doing everything we can to provide a safe environment for our church family and surrounding community. The leadership team at Camp Hill UMC has made the difficult decision to postpone our plan to regather for in-person worship. Instead, please join us for worship this Sunday online at 9:30 am, as we offer a modified worship experience via live stream only.
The Camp Hill UMC campus is currently closed. The church office will remain open with modified hours. On Mondays, the office will be open from 9:00 am—4:00 pm. Every other day of the week, the office will be open from 9:00 am—noon. For the safety of you, our community, and our staff, please call or email rather than visiting. If you must stop by, please call in advance. You can find our list of contact information by visiting camphillumc.org/staff or you can call the church office at 717-737-5631. Thank you for your patience during this time.
Your generosity makes a difference! Please continue to faithfully give financial offerings online or by mail so that the mission and ministry of Camp Hill UMC thrives all the more in the midst of difficult days.
