On Sunday evening, August 30th, at 6:30 pm, we will offer a Celebration-style hymn sing on the lawn. Pastor Kathy will be speaking.
On Sunday morning, September 6th, at 11:00 am, we will offer an Outdoor New Life Worship Service.
We ask you to bring your own chair, wear a mask, and practice social distancing. We also ask that you pre-register for the events. If the weather is inclement and we need to make a service adjustment, we will be able to contact you. In addition, pre-registration provides for contact tracing if needed. Pre-registration is open!
Please pre-register for a Front Porch Visit with Pastor Kathy. These will be held in small groups in person at the church (with safe social distancing and mask-wearing), online using ZOOM, or if you’d prefer, on your front porch. The purpose of these will be for Pastor Kathy to get to meet you, hear your stories and hopes for the Church, and to better get to know Pastor Kathy. Pre-register online or by calling the church office at 717-737-5631.
Volunteer at the Upward Football Concession Stand! This is a fun way to help the kids and watch the games. Your help is greatly appreciated! This year will be a little different as you will be REQUIRED to wear a mask to volunteer in the stand until further notice. Sign up today!
Ideas for prayer are shared from Camp Hill UMC Student Ministries for each day of September. Feel free to add additional prayers that come to your mind and heart for people and situations in our local church, The United Methodist Church, the global church, and the wider world. September Prayer Time Calendar will be released on September 1st. Beginning September 1st, prayers will be listed on camphillumc.org/prayertime and daily on our Facebook and Instagram pages.
CHUM Preschool is looking for substitute teachers for the upcoming school year. No experience required, just a heart for kids and clearances! Substitutes are contacted when needed. The hours are weekdays from 9:00-12:00 or occasionally 12:30-3:30. If you can help us out, please email Jen Stoner, Preschool Director, at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information or to be added to the list. Thanks!
THANK YOU! The Panguma Scholarship Campaign has been fully funded in 2020, ensuring quality education of hundreds of children and teens in Sierra Leone. Thank you so much for your generosity during these unprecedented times! We exceeded our goal by raising $31,515! Praise God!
Grab your coffee and join us for our Virtual Coffee Connection on Zoom. Fellowship will begin immediately following the 9:30 am Worship Service on Sunday morning, August 30th. Our daily encouragement sessions on Facebook Live have been a great way for us to stay connected as we were physically distant. We will now offer three Facebook Live sessions per week. Someone from Camp Hill UMC will be engaging with you on Facebook Live* at 6:30 pm. In our church’s pattern of praying together at dinner time, we invite you to join in these “community” events and to add your prayers to the chorus. See our updated schedule below!
Sundays : Sermon Rewind
Bring questions from that morning’s sermon!
Tuesdays: Children’s Chat with Miss Katie
Wednesdays: Mid-Week Check In
*A Facebook account is NOT required to watch the live videos!
Join us this fall as we read the book White Fragility by Robin Diangelo. As you read, take notes, pray about it, talk about it in your home and with those in your circle. We have created a space to use the book as a platform to talk openly and as a community of faith about racism. Jesus calls us not to turn away from the challenging issues but to join together and work towards a more just world. Sign up for the class that will run Wednesdays at 6:30 pm from September 16th – November 18th. A virtual class and an in-person class will be offered.
The Unified Leadership Council will meet next on September 8th at 6:30 pm online. These meetings are open to all members and friends of the church. To read past meeting minutes, visit camphillumc.org/unified. For information on how to log in to the Zoom meeting call the church office at 717-737-5631.
We have heard from many of you who are searching for ways to offer your talents and spirit to your neighbors. We are excited that we are bringing together those who are in need and those who are willing to help. If you are in need of food, someone to run an errand for you, or someone to talk to, we want to connect you with those in the church who care. So, if you are in need or you want to give of yourself, please visit camphillumc.org/bethechurch. Questions, contact Drew Robeson at
It is our responsibility to show others the love of Jesus. Each week in September, we will challenge you to BE the church.
• WEEK ONE CHALLENGE: Call and have a phone visit with someone you haven’t seen in awhile (and maybe hasn’t been seen in awhile).
Our leadership team is carefully and continually monitoring this situation. As information evolves, camphillumc.org/coronavirus is the primary, most up-to-date place for you to receive answers to commonly asked questions. We are committed to doing everything we can to provide a safe environment for our church family and surrounding community.
The Camp Hill UMC campus is currently closed. The church office will remain open with modified hours. On Mondays, the office will be open from 9:00 am—4:00 pm. Every other day of the week, the office will be open from 9:00 am—noon. For the safety of you, our community, and our staff, please call or email rather than visiting. If you must stop by, please call in advance. You can find our list of contact information by visiting camphillumc.org/staff or you can call the church office at 717-737-5631.
