Governor Wolf re-instituted the 25 person limit on indoor gatherings for the Commonwealth. The leadership team at Camp Hill UMC has made the difficult decision to postpone our plan to regather for in-person worship. Instead, please join us for worship this Sunday online at 9:30 am, as we offer a modified worship experience via live stream only. You can find a link to our live stream on our home page at camphillumc.org or on our YouTube channel, youtube.com/c/camphillumc.
The Panguma Scholarship Campaign runs through August 16th. Sponsoring a child’s education is a personal way to show God’s love to a child in need and give them the tools to help provide a brighter future. Even though some of us are struggling financially due to this pandemic, the global impact is seriously felt in Sierra Leone as basic costs continue to rise with an economy suffering with COVID 19. Our goal is to raise $30,000 in 2020 for the proper education of the children and teens of Panguma, Sierra Leone. New this year, is a generous Challenge Grant of $4,000 from some anonymous friends in the congregation. Meaning that if we can raise $20,000 together, then we will receive the $4,000 bonus! Will you help us meet that challenge today? If you have any questions, please contact Drew Robeson at email@example.com. Visit camphillumc.org/panguma-scholarship-campaign for more information.

Our daily encouragement sessions on Facebook Live have been a great way for us to stay connected as we were physically distant. We will now offer three Facebook Live sessions per week. Someone from Camp Hill UMC will be engaging with you on Facebook Live* at 6:30 pm. In our church’s pattern of praying together at dinner time, we invite you to join in these “community” events and to add your prayers to the chorus. See our updated schedule below!
Sundays : Sermon Rewind
Bring questions from that morning’s sermon!
Tuesdays: Children’s Chat with Miss Katie
Wednesdays: Mid-Week Check In
*A Facebook account is NOT required to watch the live videos!
If you’re a young adult (age 22+) in search of connection and Christ-centered community, please email Shannon Zimmerman at ZoeMazi.LifeTogether@gmail.com for more information about Zoe Mazi (which means “life together”). The July schedule is now available.
Join us this summer as we read the book White Fragility by Robin Diangelo. As you read, take notes, pray about it, talk about it in your home and with those in your circle. At the end of the summer, we will create a space for the congregation to talk about the book as a platform to talk openly and as a community of faith about racism. Jesus calls us not to turn away from the challenging issues but to join together and work towards a more just world.
The Unified Leadership Council will meet next on August 18th at 6:30 pm online. These meetings are open to all members and friends of the church. To read past meeting minutes, visit camphillumc.org/unified. For information on how to log in to the Zoom meeting, contact Georgia Reisinger at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We have outgrown our current APP! We are hoping to implement a new mobile app by the fall. You can find all the information that lived on the app on our mobile-friendly website, camphillumc.org, including the weekly prayer list, weekly news, giving, etc. If you have any questions or concerns, contact Leslie Petersheim at email@example.com. Feel free to delete the current mobile app!
In John 15:15-16, Jesus says, “I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.”
Talking with God develops a deeper relationship with Him. The deeper the relationship becomes, the more time you want to spend with Him. When you feel like your world is spinning out of control, when storms hit, when you’re taken over by worry, when sickness and fatigue strike, let prayer be your stability, calm, and tranquility. You’ll find rest and recovery in Christ.
The church leadership has listed ideas for prayer for you to consider each day. Prayers will be listed on camphillumc.org/prayertime and daily on our Facebook and Instagram pages. Feel free to add additional prayers that come to your mind and heart for people and situations in our local church, The United Methodist Church, the global church, and the wider world.
It is more important now than ever to continue to connect with others during our shelter-in-place order. Are you looking for a practical way to stay connected to our church family? We are now offering virtual small groups! Visit camphillumc.org/virtualgroups for current offerings or to register for us to form a new virtual group including you. Questions, contact Sandy Zirbel at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We have heard from many of you who are searching for ways to offer your talents and spirit to your neighbors. We are excited that we are bringing together those who are in need and those who are willing to help. If you are in need of food, someone to run an errand for you, or someone to talk to, we want to connect you with those in the church who care. So, if you are in need or you want to give of yourself, please visit camphillumc.org/bethechurch. Questions, contact Drew Robeson at
Our leadership team is carefully and continually monitoring this situation. We are committed to doing everything we can to provide a safe environment for our church family and surrounding community. The leadership team at Camp Hill UMC has made the difficult decision to postpone our plan to regather for in-person worship. Instead, please join us for worship this Sunday online at 9:30 am, as we offer a modified worship experience via live stream only.
