Our prayers of Christian sympathy for the Carol Harrison family and her friends upon her death on June 9th. Carol, one of our beloved homebound members, was 89 years old and a 22+ year member of Camp Hill UMC. The widow of Reverend LeRoy Harrison, a retired United Methodist pastor, her son Jim and his family are also members of Camp Hill UMC. A private family service is scheduled for June 17th.
Our beloved homebound member Barb Schuette died June 5th. Barb was a member of Camp Hill UMC for over 75 years and a member of the choir for almost 70 years! Services are delayed due to COVID-19. Our deepest sympathies and prayers are extended to her family and friends.
We want to honor your father and father figures on June 21st, but we need your help! Send us your favorite photo of your dad or father figure for our Father’s Day celebration. Email your photo to Leslie at email@example.com by June 15th.
*BONUS: Recreate a photo of your dad and send Leslie both the original and your recreated photo!
Sunday, June 21st is Pastor Gary’s last preaching Sunday here at Camp Hill UMC. In this awkward COVID season, many of us have found it hard to celebrate milestones like weddings, graduations, and goodbyes so we invite you to a Drive-By Goodbye for Pastor Gary and Cindy.
On Sunday, June 21st from 11:00 am until 12:30 pm, Pastor Gary and Cindy will be standing at door number 6, that’s in the rear of the building, you’ll see a pop-up tent. We hope that you have an opportunity to drive by and say goodbye as the Weaver’s move upstream to Lewisburg.
Children are more than the church of tomorrow; they are a vital part of the church today! The vision of CHUM Children is to grow children’s hearts for God. We want children to experience for themselves who God is, how He sees them, and how much He loves them. We were given prayer as a way to communicate with God directly. Teaching our children to pray helps them to understand that God is always accessible and always there for them.
The children of Camp Hill UMC have listed ideas for prayer for you to consider each day, and we invite you to add your own personal prayers. Beginning June 1st, prayers will be listed on camphillumc.org/prayertime and daily on our Facebook and Instagram pages.
It is more important now than ever to continue to connect with others during our shelter-in-place order. Are you looking for a practical way to stay connected to our church family? We are now offering virtual small groups! Visit camphillumc.org/virtualgroups for current offerings or to register for us to form a new virtual group including you. Questions, contact Sandy Zirbel at firstname.lastname@example.org.
**Two new virtual small group offerings are now available to register for: Pandemic Parenting and One Year Chronological Bible Study. Visit camphillumc.org/virtualgroups to learn more and to register.
We have copies of the May/June Upper Room in the church office. If you would like a copy, we are happy to mail them, or you can stop by during office hours and pick one up if you call first at 717-737-5631.
The Upper Room® is a global ministry dedicated to supporting the spiritual life of Christians seeking to know and experience God more fully. From its beginnings in 1935 as a daily devotional guide, The Upper Room has grown to include publications, programs, prayer support, and other resources to help believers of all ages and denominations move to a deeper level of faith and service.
We have heard from many of you who are searching for ways to offer your talents and spirit to your neighbors. We are excited that we are bringing together those who are in need and those who are willing to help. If you are in need of food, someone to run an errand for you, or someone to talk to, we want to connect you with those in the church who care. So, if you are in need or you want to give of yourself, please visit camphillumc.org/bethechurch. Questions, contact Drew Robeson at
Every day (except for Saturday Sabbath), someone from Camp Hill UMC will be engaging with you on Facebook Live at 6:30 pm. In our church’s pattern of praying together at dinner time, we invite you to join in these “community” events and to add your prayers to the chorus.
