All You Can Stewardship

This Sunday is the final week of our ALL YOU CAN sermon series. We have been and will continue exploring together John Wesley’s surprising wisdom to earn all you can, save all you can, and give all you can. We will talk about money and how we can earn, save, and give it in ways that help others and honor Christ.

This Sunday, November 22nd, Commitment Sunday! If you haven’t done so already, please bring your commitment cards to worship with you on Sunday!

Thank you for all you do to further the mission and work of Camp Hill UMC. You make a difference! At the center of a biblical perspective on money and possessions is a deep awareness that none of it really belongs to us. You can find more information and a digital commitment card at camphillumc.org/allyoucan.

COVID & The Church Survey

Please complete our COVID & The Church Survey. Your input is valuable to us. It will help our church navigate these unusual times.

The deadline to complete the survey is November 24th!

If you have any questions, please contact the church office at 717-737-5631.

Milestone Birthday Celebration

Bob Steele, one of our homebound members, turns 90 years old on November 30th! Help us celebrate his milestone birthday by sending him a card. An updated list of homebound names and addresses is available by emailing smoran@camphillumc.org. Thank you!

Angel Tree

Bring joy to someone this Christmas with our annual Angel Tree!

On Saturday, November 21st, there will be angels on the Christmas Tree and on a table (socially-distanced) located between doors 6 and 7 at Camp Hill UMC. Feel free to park your car in the back after you drop off your commitment card and soup and come browse our angels. Once you have your angel, purchase the items indicated and follow instructions (or just ask us). We will be at the church from 9 am to noon. Gifts are due December 13th and may be dropped off at the church on Sundays from 9am to 2pm, or other times at the church office (please call before coming to the church office).

You may also check out angels from the Angel Tree Sundays from 9 am to 2 pm  beginning November 22nd up to and including December 13th. We will have angels inside at the Gathering Space and outside by the front doors.

Questions, contact Linda Armstrong at 717-602-9004.

Advent Deck The Halls Party

TODAY from 12:00 pm – 3:30pm is our Advent Deck the Halls Party! Please pre-register online so that we can ensure that our covid protocols are in place. We’ll be focusing mostly on outdoor decor, so be sure to bring your mittens! Questions, contact Ryan Murphy at rmurphy@snlym.com.

Card Ministry

Camp Hill UMC’s Card Ministry needs new commercial or homemade religious Christmas, and Women’s Get Well Cards with envelopes. You can drop off items outside the church office. Please call 717-737-5631 beforehand. Thank you!

Follow The Star

Encounter the story of the very first Christmas with your family at Camp Hill UMC as you follow the star to Christ Jesus. We invite you to walk through our outdoor, interactive, and socially-distanced nativity experience. The journey begins in December. There will be several days you can come and follow the star! For more information and to pre-register, visit camphillumc.org/fts.

We’re embarking on a journey this Advent season and we need YOU! During the weekends in December, we are hosting “Follow The Star,” an interactive and safe nativity experience for the community, which involves guests traveling to spots along the front-side of the church, learning the Christmas story from Biblical character perspectives. This event will feature a man-made stable and a gift of light to all who attend. Such a large endeavor gives the opportunity for a good number of people to serve in some capacity. There are different types of roles, both in and out of the spotlight. All roles involve being socially-distanced and completely safe. To see a full list of opportunities, dates and times, please visit the sign-up registration: https://camphillumc.churchcenter.com/registrations/events/category/29290.

Confirmation 2021

Confirmation 2021 is still in the works! Confirmation class is open to all students in 8th through 12th grade who have not yet completed the class. If you have an eighth grade student and have not yet been contacted or if you have a high school student who would like to join, please contact Kayt Hughes at khughes@camphillumc.org for more information!

CHUM Children Online

Have you ever thought about everything God has done for you? He made a way to rescue you through Jesus’ death and resurrection. When you remember that, you can be thankful—always. All November we are talking about gratitude! Join us weekly as your kids ages 2-Grade 5 engage with Jesus through our virtual Sunday School lessons. We encourage you to watch the videos as a family because we want families to experience the grace of Jesus together. Lessons premiere on YouTube Fridays at 12:00 pm. Visit camphillumc.org/children to learn more! Questions, email Miss Katie, Camp Hill UMC’s Children’s Director at kknorr@camphillumc.org.

Family Promise

Camp Hill UMC will be providing dinners for the Family Promise families on December 20th–27th. If you would like to learn more about this service opportunity, please contact Faith Blough at fcblough@ptd.net.

Be The Church

We are currently looking for a few souls who love reaching out to others on the phone to help make a round of calls to the congregation to check in during this terribly difficult and disconnected Covid season. You will be given a suggested script to help with ideas for the calls, along with a list of people to phone.  If you’re willing to help, please contact Pastor Anna at aknox@camphillumc.org.

Will You Work For Cookies?

Would you be willing to help deliver cookies to first time visitors of our church? Please contact Pastor Jenny Streeter jstreeter@camphillumc.org if you can help.

Unified Leadership Council

The Unified Leadership Council will meet next on December 8th at 6:30 pm online. These meetings are open to all members and friends of the church. To read past meeting minutes, visit camphillumc.org/unified. For information on how to log in to the Zoom meeting, call the church office at 717-737-5631.

Camp Hill UMC Shop

Camp Hill UMC’s Shop has reopened just in time for Christmas shopping! Represent Camp Hill UMC in every community you encounter by wearing our cross and flame. Allow it to be a conversation starter for sharing the good news of Jesus Christ! 20% of each purchase benefits the mission and vision of Camp Hill UMC. Visit camphillumc.org/shop to view products.

Tech Help Wanted

Since the beginning of this COVID season, we’ve had to make some adjustments, including fast-tracking our need to live stream weekly. With this, we are in need of some help in our worship tech ministries, running the camera, lyrics, and sound for both live stream and in-person worship services. All training will be provided. For more information, contact Brad Gardner at bgardner@camphillumc.org.

Virtual Coffee Connection

Grab your coffee and join us for our Virtual Coffee Connection on Zoom. Fellowship will begin immediately following the 9:30 am Worship Service on Sunday morning, November 22nd. Please sign up at camphillumc.churchcenter.com/registrations or call the church office for assistance at 717-737-5631. We can’t wait to see your smiling face!

Join a Small Group

Studying God’s word with our siblings in Christ is a very valuable piece of our Christian walk. Through these group studies, we also grow in relationship, not only with God but with our Camp Hill UMC family and friends. We invite and encourage everyone to be a part of a Discovery Group. Both in-person and virtual groups are forming and others are continuing. You do not have to be a member or attendee of Camp Hill UMC to join a study group. All are welcome to participate.

November Prayer Time Calendar

Ideas for prayer are shared from the New Life Worship Team for each day of November. Feel free to add additional prayers that come to your mind and heart for people and situations in our local church, The United Methodist Church, the global church, and the wider world. Prayers will be listed on camphillumc.org/prayertime and daily on our Facebook and Instagram pages.

Facebook Encouragement

Encouragement sessions on Facebook Live are a great way for us to stay connected while we are physically distant. We will now offer three Facebook Live sessions per week. Someone from Camp Hill UMC will be engaging with you on Facebook Live* at 6:30 pm. In our church’s pattern of praying together at dinner time, we invite you to join in these “community” events and to add your prayers to the chorus. See our updated schedule below!

Sundays : Sermon Rewind
Bring questions from that morning’s sermon!

Tuesdays: Children’s Chat with Miss Katie

Wednesdays: Mid-Week Check In

*A Facebook account is NOT required to watch the live videos!

Office Hours

The church office is open with modified hours. On Mondays, the office will be open from 9:00 am—4:00 pm. Every other day of the week, the office will be open from 9:00 am—noon. For the safety of you, our community, and our staff, please call or email rather than visiting. If you must stop by, please call in advance. You can find our list of contact information by visiting camphillumc.org/staff or you can call the church office at 717-737-5631. Thank you for your patience during this time.

Your generosity makes a difference! Please continue to faithfully give financial offerings online or by mail so that the mission and ministry of Camp Hill UMC thrives all the more in the midst of difficult days.
