Please gather together an advent wreath at home to light during worship this Advent season. You will need four candles – traditionally, either white ones or three purple and one pink.
Thank you for your participation in our ALL YOU CAN Commitment Series. You are an important part of the work that God is doing in and through our church, in our community, and in the world. Because of your gifts, you will help to change the lives of children, youth, and adults, reaching out to those in need and connecting the disconnected with Jesus Christ.
You make a difference! At the center of a biblical perspective on money and possessions is a deep awareness that none of it really belongs to us. You can find more information and a digital commitment card at camphillumc.org/allyoucan.
Bob Steele, one of our homebound members, turns 90 years old on November 30th! Help us celebrate his milestone birthday by sending him a card. An updated list of homebound names and addresses is available by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you!
Camp Hill UMC is looking for a part-time Community Outreach Coordinator. Camp Hill UMC is a dynamic, welcoming church that focuses on making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the word. The Community Outreach Coordinator will be responsible for carrying out impactful community engagement opportunities, administering the focus of Camp Hill UMC on externally-focused mission. Visit camphillumc.org/employment to learn more and apply!
Occasionally, a parishioner needs a ride to the doctors or for errands. We have a few folks who have volunteered to drive but who may not be available at a particular time so we would like to expand our potential driver list in the event of a specific need. If you would be available, on occasion, with advanced notice, please email Pastor Sharon at email@example.com or call her at 717-691-8241. If you have any special notes on availability, as in particular days or times, please so indicate as well as the best way to reach you. Thank you in advance!
Join us (virtually) on Sunday, December 13th during our 9:30 am live stream broadcast as we celebrate this joyous season as our adult handbell choirs pay homage to their 30 years of ministry at Camp Hill United Methodist by using scripture, original writings by retired Pastor, George Barto, and some of their favorite pieces over those 30 years to retell the miraculous story of Christmas through Lessons and Carols. Share the live stream link with friends who might also be missing their traditional Christmas Cantata by their choir and allow them to relive this wondrous story told in a rather unique way. We hope this worship presentation blesses you.
Thank you to all who were able to attend our Annual Church Conference and Town Hall on November 19th. If you were unable to attend, you can read the meeting minutes by visiting camphillumc.org/church-conference. Thank you!
Bring joy to someone this Christmas with our annual Angel Tree!
On Saturday, November 21st, there will be angels on the Christmas Tree and on a table (socially-distanced) located between doors 6 and 7 at Camp Hill UMC. Feel free to park your car in the back after you drop off your commitment card and soup and come browse our angels. Once you have your angel, purchase the items indicated and follow instructions (or just ask us). We will be at the church from 9 am to noon. Gifts are due December 13th and may be dropped off at the church on Sundays from 9am to 2pm, or other times at the church office (please call before coming to the church office).
You may also check out angels from the Angel Tree Sundays from 9 am to 2 pm beginning November 22nd up to and including December 13th. We will have angels inside at the Gathering Space and outside by the front doors.
Questions, contact Linda Armstrong at 717-602-9004.

Encounter the story of the very first Christmas with your family at Camp Hill UMC as you follow the star to Christ Jesus. We invite you to walk through our outdoor, interactive, and socially-distanced nativity experience. The journey begins in December. There will be several days you can come and follow the star! For more information and to pre-register, visit camphillumc.org/fts.
Confirmation 2021 is still in the works! Confirmation class is open to all students in 8th through 12th grade who have not yet completed the class. Have you ever thought about everything God has done for you? He made a way to rescue you through Jesus’ death and resurrection. When you remember that, you can be thankful—always. All November we are talking about gratitude! Join us weekly as your kids ages 2-Grade 5 engage with Jesus through our virtual Sunday School lessons. We encourage you to watch the videos as a family because we want families to experience the grace of Jesus together. Lessons premiere on YouTube Fridays at 12:00 pm. Visit camphillumc.org/children to learn more! Questions, email Miss Katie, Camp Hill UMC’s Children’s Director at email@example.com.
Camp Hill UMC will be providing dinners for the Family Promise families on December 20th–27th. If you would like to learn more about this service opportunity, please contact Faith Blough at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We are currently looking for a few souls who love reaching out to others on the phone to help make a round of calls to the congregation to check in during this terribly difficult and disconnected Covid season. You will be given a suggested script to help with ideas for the calls, along with a list of people to phone. If you’re willing to help, please contact Pastor Anna at email@example.com.
The Unified Leadership Council will meet next on December 8th at 6:30 pm online. These meetings are open to all members and friends of the church. To read past meeting minutes, visit camphillumc.org/unified. For information on how to log in to the Zoom meeting, call the church office at 717-737-5631.

Since the beginning of this COVID season, we’ve had to make some adjustments, including fast-tracking our need to live stream weekly. With this, we are in need of some help in our worship tech ministries, running the camera, lyrics, and sound for our live stream worship services. All training will be provided. For more information, contact Brad Gardner at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Grab your coffee and join us for our Virtual Coffee Connection on Zoom. Fellowship will begin immediately following the 9:30 am Worship Service on Sunday morning, November 29th. Please sign up at camphillumc.churchcenter.com/registrations or call the church office for assistance at 717-737-5631. We can’t wait to see your smiling face!
Studying God’s word with our siblings in Christ is a very valuable piece of our Christian walk. Through these group studies, we also grow in relationship, not only with God but with our Camp Hill UMC family and friends. We invite and encourage everyone to be a part of a Discovery Group. Both in-person and virtual groups are forming and others are continuing. You do not have to be a member or attendee of Camp Hill UMC to join a study group. All are welcome to participate.
Available December 1, 2020
Ideas for prayer for each day of December have been shared by the Camp Hill UMC Pastors. Feel free to add additional prayers that come to your mind and heart for people and situations in our local church, The United Methodist Church, the global church, and the wider world. Prayers will be listed on camphillumc.org/prayertime and daily on our Facebook and Instagram pages.
Encouragement sessions on Facebook Live are a great way for us to stay connected while we are physically distant. We will now offer three Facebook Live sessions per week. Someone from Camp Hill UMC will be engaging with you on Facebook Live* at 6:30 pm. In our church’s pattern of praying together at dinner time, we invite you to join in these “community” events and to add your prayers to the chorus. See our updated schedule below!
Sundays : Sermon Rewind
Bring questions from that morning’s sermon!
Tuesdays: Children’s Chat with Miss Katie
Wednesdays: Mid-Week Check In
*A Facebook account is NOT required to watch the live videos!
