Next Sunday, November 15th, is Stuffing Sunday! CHUM Children and Upward teamed up this year to collect stuffing for the Bethesda Mission. The Bethesda Mission has been providing hope and healing to hurting and homeless people in the Greater Harrisburg area. Let’s increase their collection total! If you are able, please bring boxes of stuffing with you to worship on Sunday, November 15th. We have already collected 75, but we’re looking for your help to meet our goal of 300 boxes of stuffing! You can also drop off items outside the church office. Please call 717-737-5631 beforehand. Thank you!
Join us as we celebrate the life of William “Bill” Williams Sunday, November 8th, 2020 at 2:00 pm. You may watch the live stream on YouTube: https://youtu.be/_7m-wnliCvE. You do not need to pre-register if you are joining us online.
Beginning THIS Sunday, we will be exploring together John Wesley’s surprising wisdom to earn all you can, save all you can, and give all you can. We will talk about money and how we can earn, save, and give it in ways that help others and honor Christ. The final week of our program, All You Can, will culminate in Commitment Sunday, November 22nd.
Thank you for all you do to further the mission and work of Camp Hill UMC. You make a difference! At the center of a biblical perspective on money and possessions is a deep awareness that none of it really belongs to us. You can find more information at camphillumc.org/allyoucan.
On Saturday, November 21st, we will ask our members to return their commitment cards to a Pop-Up Commitment Food Drive. Drop your commitment card off in a special box at the church entrance along with a can of hearty soup (Progresso, Campbell’s Homestyle, or Campbell’s Chunky) at the Pop-Up Soup Drive for the Earl Besch Food Pantry. The Earl Besch Pantry serves 44 families with 108 children in the Camp Hill School District! Thank you to those members and attenders who gave last year. Without your support, our church’s ministry could not happen.

Have you ever thought about everything God has done for you? He made a way to rescue you through Jesus’ death and resurrection. When you remember that, you can be thankful—always. All November we are talking about gratitude! Join us weekly as your kids ages 2-Grade 5 engage with Jesus through our virtual Sunday School lessons. We encourage you to watch the videos as a family because we want families to experience the grace of Jesus together. Lessons premiere on YouTube Fridays at 12:00 pm. Visit camphillumc.org/children to learn more! Questions, email Miss Katie, Camp Hill UMC’s Children’s Director at email@example.com.
We are currently looking for a few souls who love reaching out to others on the phone to help make a round of calls to the congregation to check in during this terribly difficult and disconnected Covid season. You will be given a suggested script to help with ideas for the calls, along with a list of people to phone. If you’re willing to help, please contact Pastor Anna at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Unified Leadership Council will meet next on November 10th at 6:30 pm online. These meetings are open to all members and friends of the church. To read past meeting minutes, visit camphillumc.org/unified. To read the agenda for the upcoming November meeting, visit camphillumc.org/ulc. For information on how to log in to the Zoom meeting, call the church office at 717-737-5631.
Camp Hill UMC’s Shop has reopened just in time for Christmas shopping! Represent Camp Hill UMC in every community you encounter by wearing our cross and flame. Allow it to be a conversation starter for sharing the good news of Jesus Christ! 20% of each purchase benefits the mission and vision of Camp Hill UMC. Visit camphillumc.org/shop to view products.
Since the beginning of this COVID season, we’ve had to make some adjustments, including fast-tracking our need to live stream weekly. With this, we are in need of some help in our worship tech ministries, running the camera, lyrics, and sound for both live stream and in-person worship services. All training will be provided. For more information, contact Brad Gardner at email@example.com.
Grab your coffee and join us for our Virtual Coffee Connection on Zoom. Fellowship will begin immediately following the 9:30 am Worship Service on Sunday morning, November 8th. Please sign up at camphillumc.churchcenter.com/registrations or call the church office for assistance at 717-737-5631. We can’t wait to see your smiling face!
Studying God’s word with our siblings in Christ is a very valuable piece of our Christian walk. Through these group studies, we also grow in relationship, not only with God but with our Camp Hill UMC family and friends. We invite and encourage everyone to be a part of a Discovery Group. Both in-person and virtual groups are forming and others are continuing. You do not have to be a member or attendee of Camp Hill UMC to join a study group. All are welcome to participate.
Ideas for prayer are shared from the New Life Worship Team for each day of November. Feel free to add additional prayers that come to your mind and heart for people and situations in our local church, The United Methodist Church, the global church, and the wider world. Prayers will be listed on camphillumc.org/prayertime and daily on our Facebook and Instagram pages.
Encouragement sessions on Facebook Live are a great way for us to stay connected while we are physically distant. We will now offer three Facebook Live sessions per week. Someone from Camp Hill UMC will be engaging with you on Facebook Live* at 6:30 pm. In our church’s pattern of praying together at dinner time, we invite you to join in these “community” events and to add your prayers to the chorus. See our updated schedule below!
Sundays : Sermon Rewind
Bring questions from that morning’s sermon!
Tuesdays: Children’s Chat with Miss Katie
Wednesdays: Mid-Week Check In
*A Facebook account is NOT required to watch the live videos!
The church office is open with modified hours. On Mondays, the office will be open from 9:00 am—4:00 pm. Every other day of the week, the office will be open from 9:00 am—noon.
