9:30 am Celebration Worship via YouTube live stream only
Rev. Anna Layman Knox, Pastor, preaching
Rev. Dr. Kathleen Kind, Pastor
*Pre-registration is required. Sign up today! If the weather is inclement and we need to make a service adjustment, we will be able to contact you. In addition, pre-registration provides for contact tracing if needed. We ask you to bring your own chair, wear a mask, and practice social distancing.
As we prepare to worship together in October, we would like to let you know what we anticipate our schedule and plan to be.
At 9:30 am we will continue to live stream a traditional-style Celebration Service from the Sanctuary. We also will be inviting you to register to worship in person. The protocols for in-person worship will include: registering attendance, confirming that you aren’t showing signs of COVID symptoms, wearing masks the entire time, there will be music but we won’t sing along, greeting one another without touching, and seating by COVID circles of connection (or those family and friends who are in your COVID bubble with whom you live or share air space) with six-foot space around each unit. We believe we will be able to accommodate safely up to 25 units of people culminating in a maximum of 70 people.
New Life Service
At 11:00 am we will continue to worship in-person in the parking lot. This service will continue to be recorded and then posted online Sunday afternoon. The same protocols are in place with the exception of the numbers. Outside we can accommodate safely many more family units and people.
Pre-registration for October in-person worship is required. You may register your family unit, which can range from one person to many, depending on your family’s size, online at , or call the church office at 717-737-5631. You may not register by leaving a message. Deadline to sign up via telephone is 11:00 am the Friday prior to worship. Deadline to sign up online is midnight the Saturday prior to worship.
First Step is a one-week introduction class designed to equip and challenge you to take the next step with Jesus on your spiritual journey. Upward and CHUMChildren will be joining forces to provide a One-Way Trunk-or-Treat on Saturday, October 31, 2020 from 10:00 am-1:00 pm in the Camp Hill UMC parking lot. Trunk-or-Treating involves kids trick-or-treating from vehicle to vehicle in a safe space with vehicle-owners often decorating the trunk (or some part) of their vehicle in a seasonal and/or age-appropriate way. Gloves and masks will be required when distributing candy and all food items will need to be individually pre-packaged. If you would like to volunteer to host a trunk, please fill out this short form. Pre-registrations are required for participants and will open next week! Questions, contact Ryan Noss, Camp Hill UMC’s Director of Sports Ministries, at email@example.com or Katie Knorr, Camp Hill UMC’s Director of Children Ministries, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The card ministry is looking for donations of new anniversary cards with envelopes. You can drop cards off outside the church office. Please call 717-737-5631 beforehand. Thank you!

Sometimes we know the right answer to our questions, but we struggle with where that answer will take us. Are you struggling with where God is leading you? This Sunday, we will continue our series, What To Do When You Don’t now What To Do, and discuss Jonah 1:1-3.

Racism is not a problem that is restricted to “bad people”. Our Virtual White Fragility class is full, BUT there are still two other opportunities to join a study on this book. Join Pastor Kathy for an in-person class. This class began on September 16th but is accepting new members. Register for the in-person class here or by calling the church office at 717-737-5631. Join a virtual book study facilitated by Susquehanna Conference Director of Volunteers in Mission, Michelle Schwartzman and Grace Lemoyne Pastor, Jason Schwartzman. This class beings on October 27th. Register for the virtual class here.
Studying God’s word with our brothers and sisters in Christ is a very valuable piece of our Christian walk. Through these group studies, we also grow in relationship, not only with God but with our Camp Hill UMC family and friends. We invite and encourage everyone to be a part of a Discovery Group. Both in-person and virtual groups are forming and others are continuing. You do not have to be a member or attendee of Camp Hill UMC to join a study group. All are welcome to participate.
Volunteer at the Upward Football Concession Stand! This is a fun way to help the kids and watch the games. Your help is greatly appreciated! This year will be a little different as you will be REQUIRED to wear a mask to volunteer in the stand until further notice. Sign up today!
Available October 1st!
Ideas for prayer are shared from the Sanctuary Choir for each day of October. Feel free to add additional prayers that come to your mind and heart for people and situations in our local church, The United Methodist Church, the global church, and the wider world. Prayers will be listed on camphillumc.org/prayertime and daily on our Facebook and Instagram pages.
Our daily encouragement sessions on Facebook Live were a great way for us to stay connected while we were physically distant. We will now offer three Facebook Live sessions per week. Someone from Camp Hill UMC will be engaging with you on Facebook Live* at 6:30 pm. In our church’s pattern of praying together at dinner time, we invite you to join in these “community” events and to add your prayers to the chorus. See our updated schedule below!
Sundays : Sermon Rewind
Bring questions from that morning’s sermon!
Tuesdays: Children’s Chat with Miss Katie
Wednesdays: Mid-Week Check In
*A Facebook account is NOT required to watch the live videos!

We have heard from many of you who are searching for ways to offer your talents and spirit to your neighbors. We are excited that we are bringing together those who are in need and those who are willing to help. If you are in need of food, someone to run an errand for you, or someone to talk to, we want to connect you with those in the church who care. So, if you are in need or you want to give of yourself, please visit camphillumc.org/bethechurch. Questions, contact Pastor Kathy at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Do you have a great story from our BE THE CHURCH challenge? Share it with us! Email your story to email@example.com.

To my CHUM family,
Thank you for continuously thinking of us that are homebound. It’s so good hearing the news from church. I keep praying for the country to go back to the days when we felt free from everything.
In the midst of a lonely, confusing time you brightened my birthday with your cheerful, loving cards. Thank you so much.
Love and God bless,
Help celebrate the birthdays of our homebound members by sending them a card. An updated list of homebound names and addresses is available by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
