The church office will be closed for Christmas and New Years from December 24th through January 3rd.
After January 3rd, the church office will once again be open with modified hours. On Mondays, the office will be open from 9:00 am—4:00 pm. Every other day of the week, the office will be open from 9:00 am—noon. For the safety of you, our community, and our staff, please call or email rather than visiting. If you must stop by, please call in advance. You can find our list of contact information by visiting camphillumc.org/staff or you can call the church office at 717-737-5631. Thank you for your patience during this time.
We ended the grueling year 2020 by together exploring our hope in Christ. We can’t think of a better way to begin a new year than to dig into scripture, hoping deeply that a different kind of year–or at least new perspectives on the hardship–will emerge. So, that’s the plan, and we hope you will invite others to join you as we start the year with a new sermon series called–Starting the Year with Scripture. In worship, on January 3rd, 10th, and 17th, we’ll be exploring the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Epistles (or Letters) of John. If you were going to write a letter to the you whom we know will be transformed by God in powerful ways throughout the year 2021, what would you say? If you were going to write a letter to others you are praying for right now, what would it say? Let’s explore the letters of John in scripture–and maybe even write our own.

The real meaning of Christmas is simple: we celebrate Jesus, God’s greatest gift. We can find hope, joy, love, and peace when we remember that God sent Jesus to be our Savior. All December we are talking about Christmas! Join us weekly as your kids ages 2-Grade 5 engage with Jesus through our virtual Sunday School lessons. We encourage you to watch the videos as a family because we want families to experience the grace of Jesus together. Lessons premiere on YouTube Fridays at 12:00 pm. Visit camphillumc.org/children to learn more! Questions, email Miss Katie, Camp Hill UMC’s Children’s Director at kknorr@camphillumc.org.
We are currently looking for a few souls who love reaching out to others on the phone to help make a round of calls to the congregation to check in during this terribly difficult and disconnected Covid season. You will be given a suggested script to help with ideas for the calls, along with a list of people to phone. If you’re willing to help, please contact Pastor Anna at aknox@camphillumc.org.

Since the beginning of this COVID season, we’ve had to make some adjustments, including fast-tracking our need to live stream weekly. With this, we are in need of some help in our worship tech ministries, running the camera, lyrics, and sound for our live stream worship services. All training will be provided. For more information, contact Brad Gardner at bgardner@camphillumc.org.
Grab your coffee and join us for our Virtual Coffee Connection on Zoom. Studying God’s word with our siblings in Christ is a very valuable piece of our Christian walk. Through these group studies, we also grow in relationship, not only with God but with our Camp Hill UMC family and friends. We invite and encourage everyone to be a part of a Discovery Group. Both in-person and virtual groups are forming and others are continuing. You do not have to be a member or attendee of Camp Hill UMC to join a study group. All are welcome to participate.
Ideas for prayer for each day of December have been shared by the Camp Hill UMC Pastors. Feel free to add additional prayers that come to your mind and heart for people and situations in our local church, The United Methodist Church, the global church, and the wider world. Prayers will be listed on camphillumc.org/prayertime and daily on our Facebook and Instagram pages.
Encouragement sessions on Facebook Live are a great way for us to stay connected while we are physically distant. We will now offer three Facebook Live sessions per week. Someone from Camp Hill UMC will be engaging with you on Facebook Live* at 6:30 pm. In our church’s pattern of praying together at dinner time, we invite you to join in these “community” events and to add your prayers to the chorus. See our updated schedule below!
