Baptism

Baptism is God’s work of grace in our lives.

When John the Baptist baptized Jesus “a voice from Heaven said, ‘This is my Son, the Beloved, with whom I am well pleased.’” Matthew 3:17

When we are baptized, then, we too are adopted into the family of God. At Camp Hill United Methodist Church we baptize people of all ages. When a baby is baptized the parents vow to raise him/her in the church and when he/she becomes a teenager we offer Confirmation classes that he/she can confirm the faith that the parents professed at baptism. We also baptize older children and adults who were not baptized as babies and the confirm their faith in God – Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

At all baptisms, the church vows to support and help the individual to continue to grow in faith.

For those who wish to be baptized, you can contact Pastor Sara Shaver or Pastor Stephen Gallaher for more details.
